Three suspects were arrested Saturday in connection to the death of an off duty Mississippi State Trooper.
Lt. Troy L Morris, was a 27 year veteran on the force.
He was off duty working his part time job as a United States Postal Service employee driving along U.S.61 when he got a flat tire.
Morris reported it to Mississippi Highway Patrol and asked the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department to send an officer to watch the truck.
While waiting he was shot dead inside his truck before officers arrive.
After numerous tips and leads from witnesses officers were able to arrest Treyon Washington, 24, who is being held in the Jefferson County Detention Facility with no bond. Cdarrius Norman,17 and Damion Whittley,25 were arrested in New Orleans and are awaiting extradition to Mississippi.
All three have charged with murder.
