3 Men Charged In Multimillion-Dollar Meat Theft Operation

Three people from Florida have been taken into custody in relation to a multimillion-dollar meat theft ring that targeted the Midwest, including Minnesota.

They have been identified as Yoslany Leyva Del Sol, 37, Ledier Andino, 37, and Delvis Fuentes, 39.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the apprehensions on Tuesday. ICE stated that in the latter part of June, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office investigators, in Nebraska, started an investigation into the theft of multiple semi-trailers and loads of frozen beef.

The sheriff’s office and Homeland Security Investigation Omaha named 45 thefts across Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin from back to 2021. The value of the loss was placed at $9 million.

“The investigation, led by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and HSI Omaha’s Major Crimes Task Force, determined that a Miami-based, highly sophisticated organized criminal enterprise, targeted beef and pork packaging plants….,” ICE said in a statement.

On October 20, the three men were apprehended on pending charges of money laundering and stolen products. They are all from the Miami vicinity.

An investigation is continuing.
