On July 25, undercover Dallas officers received word about a stolen vehicle and then spotted it on the 9600 block of Golf Lakes Trail.
Undercover officers spotted the truck backed into a parking space inside an apartment complex and called for suited officers.
When officers arrived they positioned a fully marked Dodge Charger and Chevy Tahoe in front of the stolen truck.
Once the suspects noticed they were blocked in Damon Price, 21 intentionally slammed into both police vehicles. The truck then reversed and stopped.
Suspects Price, Deantae Moore,19 and an unknown male got out of the truck. Price and the unknown male both took off running from the scene.
Eric Lampkin-Scarbrough,17 also got out of the truck with the suspects but he had a modified handgun with an extended magazine and switch, in his hand.
Officer Travis Marks, who was inside the Tahoe, saw Lampkin-Scarbrough as a threat, and pulled out his weapon shooting him.
He continued to run but was approached by a few other officers as well as officer Travis Marks, who fired his weapon but didn’t hit the suspect.
Lampkin-Scarbrough and Price were arrested and transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. Lampkin-Scarbrough was charged with Evading Detention on foot and Prohibited Weapon. Price was charged with Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, two counts of Aggravated Assault Public Servant, Evading Detention on Foot and a probation violation for Manufacture or Delivery of Substance.
Moore was taken down to headquarters for questioning regarding a double murder in March 2024. He was eventually booked in and charged with capital murder.
The fourth suspect still remains at large.
No officers were injured.
This investigation is ongoing and is being investigated by the Dallas Police Special Investigations Unit.
