A mom in Houston, Texas, is begging for assistance in finding the killer of her 5-year-old daughter. The child was killed in a drive-by shooting in the Greenspoint community.

On July 3, shortly before 1 a.m., Kristena Watters finished up her shift at a restaurant. She then traveled to retrieve her children from a 24-hour daycare. As she was taking her two children to get ice cream, their car stopped at the 13300 block of Northborough Drive.

Then, a silver 1999, four-door Honda Accord was going west on Rushcreek through the intersection. Four unidentified men were inside of it. A man sitting in the back driver’s seat began shooting at a food store that was nearby.

As the shooting continued, the Honda was driven in front of Watters’ car. One of the bullets went through the back door of the mother’s car, striking Khamaya Donelson, 5, and her 8-year-old brother.

The Honda left the scene and is thought to have gone into an apartment complex near Rankin Road and Rushworth.

“My daughter was five, and she was shot in her face. She wasn’t just killed. She was brutally murdered. Because what? Gang violence? Someone felt like reenacting ‘Boyz N the Hood?’ the mother stated.

“My baby was gone before they even had the chance to save her. There are so many people that were at that store. And so many that will not come forward,” Watters added.

A $25,000 reward will be provided for information on the suspects. A GoFundMe has also been created to assist Watters and her family with expenses.
