A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of another man during a physical altercation in Dallas over the weekend.
Police responded to an emergency call reporting a disturbance on the 6500 block of Wofford Drive, around 11:37 p.m. They discovered the victim, 26 year old James John Vara, along with the suspect, 25 year old Benjamin Muniz Jr., at the scene.
Investigators learned that Muniz and Vara had engaged in a physical fight, in which Vara fell and struck his head.
Dallas Fire Rescue personnel arrived shortly after and pronounced Vara dead at the scene.
Muniz was arrested and is currently facing murder charges. He remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $100,000.
