A 24-year-old man from Dallas has been taken into custody in relation to a fatal shooting that took place in Garland.
The suspect, Shango T. Knight, was apprehended with help from the U.S. Marshals Violent Crime Task Force. On the morning of March 6, police were called to an apartment complex on the 200 block of East I-30 Highway after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Malron Murray, was rushed to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators have concluded that Knight and Murray were acquaintances who got into a conflict that led to the shooting. A murder warrant was issued for Knight, who was arrested on March 11.
He is currently being held at the Garland Detention Center facing a murder charge, with his bond set at $1,500,000. The investigation is still ongoing.
