On March 7, 2024, a little after 4:30 a.m., Garland Police answered to a report of protesters near the General Dynamics plant that is in Garland. When they arrived, officers saw multiple people and cars blocking the northbound and southbound lanes of North Glenbrook Drive. What’s more, cars and protesters were seen blocking the entryway into businesses, stopping workers leaving or arriving to the location.

Officers in Garland attempted to talk to the protesters, asking that they move their demonstration elsewhere and not to block the roads or entrance to businesses. However, multiple people verbally stated that they weren’t going to comply with the officers’ requests. After negotiation and appeals were unsuccessful, several people were taken into custody, and their cars were towed. Those people surrendered with no additional resistance, and no altercations were reported.

In all, 23 people were apprehended. Some of them are facing charges of Obstructing a Roadway while others have been charged with Criminal Trespass. 13 cars were towed from the scene, as well.

Included in those arrested were residents of cities in Texas, and two listed that they reside out of the state.
