Dallas police are investigating after a 2 year old child was ejected from a vehicle Wednesday night.
Officers responded to an incident on Interstate 30 near Peak St around 10:30pm.
When officers arrived they found a male and female, later identified as the child’s parents, looking for their son or daughter.
The child was found in a grassy area on the median near the Peak Street exit ramp.
Officials began cpr on the child until emergency crews arrived and transported the child to the hospital.
The child later died from their injuries.
During the investigation officers learned that the mother was driving and the father was the passenger.
The couple were traveling in the left lane of the 4200 block of the highway when it swerved to keep from striking another vehicle.
Within that time the car hit an HOV arrow and went across all lanes before stopping near the exit ramp of Peak Street.
This investigation is ongoing.
