Two people died and four others were hurt during a shooting that happened at Market Square, on Sunday morning, authorities in San Antonio say.
The incident occurred, close to midnight, by a stage in the 100 block of Concho Alley.
Reports indicate that officers that were close to the stage heard gunfire and observed an 18-year-old man fleeing the scene. As two officers went after the 18-year-old, another officer stated that he observed the man shoot a 20-year-old man.
The officers then fired several rounds at the 18-year-old who was hit and was later declared deceased at the location.
The 20-year-old man was transported to a medical facility that was close by and was also declared deceased.
Four other people, all women, were also shot. Two of them were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds, and the other two were examined and released at the location.
Authorities have not stated whether bystanders were struck by the suspects’ weapons or by police gunfire.
A recording posted by bystanders reveals people bending down and running during the incident.
The identities of the suspects have not been publicly released as of yet.
