A FBI agent, and possibly another, was gunned down early Tuesday morning while out on a Warrant in Sunrise, according to news reports.
Gunfire sounded off when the FBI and several officers from numerous police departments went to serve a warrant as part of a child pornography investigation that occurred this morning around 6am in an apartment complex called “Reflections” at 10100 Reflections Blvd West.
Nob Hill Rd was closed down in both directions from N.W. 44th Street all the way to Oakland Park Blvd.
Police are urging citizens to stay out of the area at this time.
According to police, the suspected gunman barricaded himself for multiple hours after being found dead of a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Right before 10:30am the fallen federal agent was escorted by police motorcade to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Several law enforcement officials have gathered in solidarity outside of the Broward Health Medical Center where the injured had been taken.
Update: Two FBI officials are confirmed dead and 3 more agents are injured from the shooting during a search warrant execute in Sunrise, Florida, Tuesday morning according to reports.
2 of the injured FBI agents has since been hospitalized and their conditions have been reported as stable. However, the condition of the third agent is not been made aware at this time.
The incident took place around 6am, while FBI and other officers from surrounding police departments were trying to execute a search warrant for a violent child pornography sting, according to FBI officials.
The suspect in relation to this incident was found dead with a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
This happened in the area of Sunrise, about 10 miles from Fort Lauderdale.
