19 Year Old Woman Arrested After Police Said She Was Running While Holding Newborn Baby By The Neck

A 19 year old woman was arrested after being seen running outside holding her newborn baby by the neck.
Officers were called to a home on Colonial Park Drive for a disturbance.
Upon arrival officers saw Areonia Igo,19 being restrained by a bystander.

According to witnesses Igo was running from her mother and while doing so she was carrying her 4 day old baby by the neck.
A witness and her boyfriend ran out to help and the boyfriend restrained Igo while the woman grabbed the baby.
The witness told authorities that the infant was turning blue and could not breathe, due to the way Igo was holding it.
During that time Igo and her mother got into a physical altercation.
When emergency crews arrived to the scene the baby was ok and breathing. The infant is now in the custody of a family member.
Igo was arrested and charged with child abuse creating risk of injury.
