19-Year-Old Runs Six Miles A Night As He Aspires To Join The Army

A video of an Indian man running home from work went viral. He has now been offered a lot of assistance.

As Pradeep Mehra, 19, ran past filmmaker Vinod Kapri, Kapri offered to give him a ride.

However, Mehra didn’t want a lift, citing that he ran six miles every night in order to prepare to join the Indian Army.

The video of the incident has circulated the internet and has been seen more than six million times.

Kapri observed Mehra running home Saturday evening after working at McDonald’s in Delhi.

The filmmaker thought the runner was in trouble and couldn’t understand why he didn’t want a ride.

“My routine will be affected if I come with you,” Mehra says as he continues to run.

Mehra also wouldn’t eat with Kapri when offered, saying that he had to cook for himself and his brother. When questioned about why he didn’t run in the morning, Mehra responded that he often wakes up early to cook before heading to work.

Kapri is heard praising Mehra for his perseverance and asks what will happen if the video goes viral.

“Who’s going to recognize me…if it goes viral? It’s okay. It’s not like I’m doing anything wrong.”

After may viewed the inspirational video, Mehra received many compliments.

“The world will know you, Pradeep,” one Twitter user wrote.

A lieutenant general tweeted that he had discussed Mehra’s training with an Indian Army official.

The Samajwadi, an opposing party, stated that they are willing to pay for Mehra’s education.
