A 19-year-old has been arrested for the shooting death of a woman outside of a Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy’s home last month.
Joe-Isaac Lee Yanez, 19, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct with a firearm, possession of stolen firearms, and two counts of theft of a firearm.
On December 6th at around 8 p.m., two suspects spotted a 2021 Dodge Charger with a woman sitting inside. The vehicle was parked outside the home of a former Sheriff’s Deputy, on the outskirts of San Antonio.
The suspects parked next to the woman and exited their car, ambushing her with gunfire. Nearly 20 rounds were discharged within feet of her vehicle.
The victim was fatally shot and pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to investigators, the following day, the woman’s younger sister was approached by a young girl who told her, “She and or her family were going to get shot or popped.”
The Deputy informed investigators of the two suspects he believed to have murdered his niece and identified Yanez and 18-year-old Darnell Drey Shawn Randle as the suspects.
4 days later, following a vehicle pursuit with Texas DPS Troopers and a 3-hour-long standoff, Yanez and Randle were arrested.
