22-year-old Amir Locke was fatally shot by Minneapolis police officers during a no-knock warrant on Wednesday.
Now, a 17-year-old, who wasn’t in the residence at that time, has been apprehended in relation to the search warrant.
Civil rights lawyer, Ben Crump, has said that Locke wasn’t identified in the warrant that was executed in search of a murder suspect.
Bodycam footage showed the officers performing the no-knock warrant and found Locke sleeping in blankets with a gun. He attempted to get up but was fatally shot by officers within 10 seconds.
On Monday afternoon, 17-year-old, Mekhi Speed, was arrested in Winona, Minnesota, in connection to the killing of Otis Elder, on January 10. The teen has been charged with second-degree murder.
Many are now protesting, requesting justice for Locke. Some have even gone to the police chief’s residence, demanding that she quit her job.
Mark Hanneman has been named as the officer who shot Locke. He has been put on administrative leave, pending results of the investigation.
