A 17-year-old girl was stabbed and killed outside the mall where she was employed. Now, authorities in Texas say that they are looking for the girl responsible.

At about 11:15 a.m, on Saturday, Dec. 9, the incident happened outside the Galleria shopping center in Houston.

A sergeant who had been in the vicinity was alerted and discovered that two women had been fighting, possible over a bag. The sergeant called for assistance, but the 17-year-old girl was declared deceased at the scene a little while later.

Police have identified the victim as Kayla Stevenson who resided in the area and had been traveling to or from her place of employment at Lids and the NBA store inside the mall.

That’s when the suspect, described as an Asian female, rode up on a bike, and tried to take her Juicy Couture bag, the victim’s mother said.

Stevenson, who had just given birth six months ago, was located on the sidewalk with several stab wounds to her upper torso.

The woman who is said to have stabbed Stevenson left the location; however, her blue bicycle was discovered close by. She is thought to be in her 20s or 30s and had on brown clothing when she left the scene.

Now, detectives continue to look at surveillance recordings in order to identify the assailant.
