16-year-old Jor’el Bolden, of Independence, Missouri, wears shoes so large that you can put your arm in them. But, they are still not big enough.
Bolden wears a size 23; however, most companies don’t sell shoes in that size.
Thus, his community gathered to support him and assisted his mother by raising $12,000 through a GoFundMe. It gained national attention and caught the eye of one major celebrity.
Shaquille O’Neal has had to deal with the same issues as Jor’el. Thus, he set up a meeting with him through a Zoom call and told him that he would be sending him a few things. Less than 3 days later, Shaq-sized, Jor’el sized clothes and 20 pairs of size 23 shoes were at the teen’s front door.
“It’s better than Christmas morning. Santa didn’t send this. Shaq did,” his mother stated.
Jor’el, who is 6-foot-5, 380-pounds, desires to be a heavyweight boxer but hasn’t been able to train effectively. This is because the size 22 shoes his family bought on Ebay hurt his feet.
This isn’t the first time that Shaq has helped growing young men.
In 2019, for example, he assisted a young 19-year-old basketball player, Zack Keith, in buying 10 pairs of size 18 shoes at whatever store he wanted to go to in Georgia.
