Authorities are trying to determine exactly why a student at a Georgia high school died on his prom night.
Just prior to midnight, on Saturday evening, police in the city of Columbus were summoned to Macon Road, close to Lake Shore Road, in regards to gunshots.
When police got to the location, they discovered two vehicles that had sustained bullet holes in them and one person had been inside of each of them. They had both been suffering from gunshot injuries. Authorities stated that a third vehicle had driven by and shot into the two vehicles.
Both people were transferred to a medical facility where Daryus Bryant, 17, was declared deceased.
The other person, Clarence Favors, had to undergo emergency surgery. There’s been no update on his condition.
No apprehensions have been made at this time, and an investigation is ongoing.
