16 Year Old Fatally Shot In North Dallas Apartment Complex; 18 Year Old Suspect Arrested

An 18 year old is in custody after a gun discharged and fatally struck a teen Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened at the Crestridge Apartments, on the 6400 block of Ridgecrest Road around 3pm.
Officers responded to the shooting call and found a 16 year old victim. He was lying on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Throughout the investigation officers learned that the suspect, Alexadre Orozco Garcia,18 was unloading a gun when it discharged striking the victim.
Garcia was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
