16-year-old Brayden Bahme, a high school student from Cheney, Washington, died following a freak accident that occurred in gym class last Thursday.
Reports state that Bahme was critically hurt after he fell into a goal post as he was running and was impaled through the eye. He was swiftly transported to a medical facility where he was later pronounced deceased.
No further details have been released in the matter.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the family with funeral costs. It noted that the remainder of the funds will go to a youth fishing program in honor of Bahme who also went by “fish pockets.”
A candlelight vigil was held for the teen on Monday evening.
