2.1kviews

On February 8, 2022, a little after 1 p.m., Garland police officers responded to the scene of a shooting.

When they arrived to the 300 block of East Vista Drive, they found a 15-year-old Hispanic male, suffering from a gunshot injury. The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatning injuries and is in critical condition.

The teen’s family told authorities that he had been outside talking to a friend on the porch. They then discovered the teen on the ground after hearing a gunshot. The friend was gone.

Officers found the second individual who had left the location. That person, a 15-year-old Hispanic male, as well, was taken into custody and is being held at the Garland Police Department. A gun was also recovered.

It isn’t clear if the shooting was accidental or which teen fired the gun.

An investigation into the matter is on-going.
