13 Year Old Boy Shot At School; Another Student In Custody

A 13 year old boy was critically injured during a shooting at a Memphis K-8 school Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a shooting around 9:15am at Cummings Elementary school on Cummings St.
Upon arrival they noticed a 13 year old boy suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.
Authorities placed the school on lockdown and moved everyone to a safe location while they searched for the suspected shooter, who was also a student at the school.
While searching officers were notified that the juvenile had turned himself in.
It is unclear at this time what led up to the shooting.
