A hit and run accident left a 12 year old boy dead near the Redbird area Friday night.
According to reports the incident happened at the intersection of Gannon Lane and Westmoreland Road when a vehicle struck the child.
Witnesses told police that a male and female jumped out of the car and fled the scene before officers could arrive. 
The boy was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities are searching for the suspects but have not released their description.
