103 YEAR OLD GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHER CELEBRATES HER RECOVERY FROM COVID-19 WITH A BUD LIGHT
One hundred and three year old Polish American and great great grandmother Jennie Stejna, recovered from the Coronavirus and celebrated with a nice cold one(Bud Light).
Jennie Stejna was the first person to be infected by the Coronavirus at her nursing home in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. She was also the first to recover from it after twenty days of fighting. Her granddaughter, Shelley Gunn, was more than happy to share her story with Wicked Local.
Jennie had worked until her 80’s, loved to crochet, an avid bingo player, and an extreme Boston sports fan. She has two children, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Jennie’s family told New York Post that they had been extremely hopeful when they first learned that she had the Coronavirus, but they had soon be squashed when they had started to prepare for the worst. The family had said their goodbyes when her condition had worsened.
Adam Gunn, Shelley’s Husband, had asked Jennie and I quote “Are you ready to go to heaven?” Jennie replied with a “Hell Yes.”
But unexpectedly she had awoken and stunned her family the next day and claimed that “I’m not sick.” Jennie had officially tested negative for the Coronavirus on May 13.
Adam Gunn stated that “This feisty old Polish grandmother of ours officially beat the coronavirus,” to The New York Post, and they were happy to add that Jennie, who was a wheelchair-bound and legally blind woman, was annoyed at the crowd of people in her room.
The Nursing Home Staff, in order to celebrate her recovery, gave her a Bud Light, something she loved the most but unfortunately was unable to have for quite some time. This caught the attention of Bud Light and they shared on Twitter, “The news we need right now. your next beer is on us, Jennie.”
Adam also stated that Jennie “could run circles around anyone” and that she had lived and worked at a mill with her husband of fifty-four years Teddy until he sadly died in 1992.
