In Tarrant county alone, more that 2,100 people has died since the pandemic hit, mentioned during the meeting.
This has been reported as Tarrant Co. is dealing with widespread confusion over the new online tool used to help individuals track their COVID-19 vaccine registration status.
Upwards of 417,000 individuals has registered with Tarrant Co., of that, around 34,000 individuals are eligible to get the vaccine in the current distribution phase.
Over 10% of county resident have been infected by COVID-19 since the pandemic began, Taneja said, as the world spills over into 100 million cases by Tuesday.
In the North Texas Region, hospital beds that are occupied by COVID-19 patients still remails well above 21%, however, that number is starting to decline, Taneja shared. During the month of January, the region reached its peak of 27%.
The best way to get “back to normal” is to continue to practice the same guidelines from the Center for Disease Control. Which is to get more individuals vaccinated, continuing to wear your mask in all situations where you would be around people you do not live with, making sure to keep 6 feet apart from others and to frequently wash your hands.
Tarry County Judge Glen Whitely stated during the meeting that he would like the next vaccination site to be a drive through in the county, to which health officials said that is currently in the works are they are working to locate potential sites.
