A 10-year-old student tragically passed away after experiencing a medical emergency at Donna Park Elementary School in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District.
On Tuesday morning, the Hurst Fire Department was called to the scene. School staff were already performing CPR when paramedics arrived and continued their life-saving efforts before transporting the student to the hospital.
Later, the school principal informed parents in a letter about the heartbreaking news that the fifth grader had unexpectedly died.
The name of the student has not been released due to privacy concerns.
HEB ISD plans to send additional counselors to the school to support the student’s friends, classmates, and teachers as they navigate their grief.
