10-year-old Miracle Sewell, from Dallas, was in her hospital gown when she learned that she had COVID-19 and would have to reschedule her surgery.
“I was laying down and waiting for the doctor to come in, and she told me that I tested positive. As soon as she told me that I had COVID, I asked my mom if I was going to die,” she recalled.
Relatives say that Miracle has been planning for this surgery on her tonsils for years. She has complained of fluid and beeping noises in her ear, a loss of balance, and aching legs, arms, and head, as a result.
Now, her surgery has been put off because of her COVID condition and a shortage in workers.
Since her positive status, Miracle has been crying and is very scared, her mother Priscilla Sewell said.
Everyone in her household is waiting for their results now.
Her mother discussed the financial toll its taken on her family. She stated that her older son had to move back home to assist with bills. Additionally, they have created an online fundraiser to help with Miracle’s operation and their upcoming battles.
