One person was fatally shot and another person has been seriously wounded. This happened after two families got into a dispute outside of a hospital emergency room in Georgia.

The Atlanta Police Department stated that the altercation turned into a shooting in DeKalb County. This transpired on Sunday, June 12, next to Grady Memorial Hospital’s ER. It resulted in a lockdown of the facility.

The person who died has been identified as Vincent Parks, Jr, 32.

“Some family members from that incident showed up outside (of) Grady emergency room. There was a dispute that then escalated to gunfire,” said Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr.

At around 11 p.m., officers got to the hospital after receiving calls about someone who had been shot.

Police say that there were several shooters, including two who had left the location. They also believe that the shooting may have been a drive-by. The family is talking with authorities as officers look at surveillance camera recordings. In a video posted by others, online, nurses were seen helping the victims.

Police say that the shooting may have been connected to another shooting that occurred in the city of Decatur. That is where a 16-year-old, Dysheae Hall, was killed.

No other information has been released.
