$1.7 million of alleged methamphetamine was collected at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge in Texas.
US Customs and Border Protection authorities stated the first seizure happened on June 17. It involved an 18 year-old male US citizen. The man lives in Mexico but tried to enter the US with 30 packages of alleged narcotics. There was approximately 34 pounds of meth. It totaled a street value of about $680,780 and was located in a hidden location in his 2008 Ford.
Then, on June 18, a 19 year-old male US citizen applied for entry into the US driving a 2006 Dodge. Officers then found 24 packages of suspected meth. The narcotics weighed about 53 pounds. It has a street value of about $1.1 million.
Furthermore, the agency noted that the vehicles and narcotics were seized. Each of the men were apprehended and turned over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
