Minority-Owned Businesses Can Apply Now For A $30K Grant Through The Dallas Black Chamber Of Commerce

In order to build businesses, the Dallas Chamber of Commerce now has grant money.

The chamber and Office Depot partnered up to develop a program called ‘Elevate Together.’ They are looking to provide funds for minority-owned businesses.

“This partnership really came from the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber. They were already working with the Office Depot corporation. They said, ‘Hey, Harrison. The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce would be a great partner for a program like this. Would you consider working with ODP?’ And they said they’ll give you money that you can give away.’ You don’t have to twist my arm for a good time,” stated Harrison Blair, the CEO of the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce.

The program was first implemented last year, and this year, Office Depot gave $30,000 to assist small businesses.

Applications are now being accepted by the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce for the ‘Elevate Together’ grant program until July 5.

“You never know, yours might be the diamond in the rough, the needle in the haystack,” Blair stated.

“We were one of the perfect candidates to receive this grant,” said Lorin Carter, of her C- Suite Equity Consulting company. “This grant is all about adressing systematic barriers and racial disparities in business, and that’s exactly what we work to do in all of the things and the services that we offer.”

“We’ve seen a lot of impact from it, so we’re very excited about what it’s doing,” Blair added.
