A man is in custody after causing a major crash and killing a motorist.
On June 21, just before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding a crash at Simpson Stuart and Bonnie View Rd. Upon arriving they noticed a two vehicle crash with one person seriously injured.
Emergency crews arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
While investigating officers learned that 28 year old Jacob Arredondo, was involved in a hit and run just moments before running a red light and striking another vehicle.
The suspect was treated at the scene for minor injuries and then booked into Dallas County jail for intoxication manslaughter.
