Woman With Shopping Cart Struck And Killed While Trying To Cross A Dallas Street
A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night while pushing a shopping cart full of groceries.
Around 9:30 p.m. officers were called to the 8700 block of Clark Rd for a crash.
During that time they witnessed a woman being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street.
Officers quickly went to the scene and noticed the woman laying on the ground critically injured. They called emergency crews who arrived and transported her to an area hospital.
She died shortly after arriving to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and spoke with officers. She was later released and is not expected to face any charges.
Authorities say the woman crossing the street was not at a crosswalk and did not yield for the vehicle.
This investigation remains ongoing.
