Teen Arrested At Uplift Mighty Preparatory Charter School In Fort Worth After Bringing Handgun To School

A 16 year old student was arrested Tuesday afternoon after bringing a handgun to school.

Officers were called to Uplift Mighty Preparatory Charter School located at 3700 Mighty Mite Dr, in Fort Worth.

When they arrived they learned that a 16 year old was inside a classroom that he didn’t belong in. When the teacher asked what he was doing he reached into his backpack.

The teacher saw the weapon and the student fled the classroom.

Staff members were able to catch the teen and detain him until officers could arrive.

He was arrested and is being held at the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center.

No one was injured.
