Dallas police are investigating after a man was fatally shot in West Dallas Friday night.
Officers responded to a shooting call on the 3400 block of N. Winnetka Avenue around 11:45 p.m.
Upon arrival officers were met by Christopher Johnson,26 who told officers that he had shot Gavino Lorta,25.
Apparently Lorta and his brother had an ongoing dispute with Johnson and went to his home.
During the altercation Johnson went to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun and shot Lorta in his shoulder.
He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. A female was also grazed by a bullet but her injury was non life threatening.
Johnson appears to be cooperating with police and no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
