Desoto West Middle School Student Speaks Out After Disturbing Video Goes Viral
A Desoto ISD student has responded to the negative backlash following a disturbing video of him throwing a chair at a substitute teacher.
The incident happened on March,9,2022 at Desoto West Middle high school, when the student,
Torrin Tman, was in a classroom he didn’t belong.
During that time an altercation between the teacher and student ensued. Students inside the classroom began filming and recorded the disturbing incident.
The video showed the student and teacher both throwing a chair at one another.
Since the video was posted to social media there has been a lot of backlash towards the student and school district.
The student, Torrin Tman, has since taken to his Instagram to explain his side, take full responsibility and apologize publicly for his actions.

Smash, idk who wrote this article, but it’s no good. They were not both throwing chairs… That old man had already been knocked upside the head before he tried to defend himself(throwing the chair back). This article is too vague and neutral. It makes it seem as if the teacher has some fault in the situation. He does not! This kid was very disrespectful and no matter what the reason, should have never thrown anything at his elder. On top of that, he was in a class he did not belong in. I’ve said it once… I’ll say it again. He needs his @$$ whooped. And his mama, aunt, etc. whoever wrote that apology needs to stop covering for him and hold him accountable. If he would have wrote an apology, it would have been evident. He didn’t write this and he is not being held accountable. That is utterly ridiculous. Back in the day, every elder from his grandparents down would whoop his behind. This is an epic fail on the parent’s part in more ways than one. Smh
