Dallas Woman Walking Her Dog Killed In Hit And Run Involving Possible Street Racers

An elderly woman walking her dog was killed by a hit and run driver, possibly involving a street racer.

Officers responded to a pedestrian struck call near Ferguson and Highwood Drive around 2:30pm.

According to witnesses, the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a black and then yellow vehicle.

Neither vehicle stopped to render aid to the woman. When emergency crews arrived she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The dog was listed in serious injury. Detectives are reviewing surveillance videos from the area. No suspect(s) have been arrested at this time.

The victims name has not been related at this time. This investigation remains ongoing.
