26 Year Old Male Killed In Deep Ellum Over The Weekend; Suspect Still At Large

Dallas police are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in Deep Ellum that killed one man and injured another.

Authorities say the incident happened around 3 a.m. on the 2600 block of Elm Street when Dallas officers working in Deep Ellum found a man lying in the street.

When other officers arrived they found the victim, 26 year old Ricky Burns suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to an area hospital along with another 26 year old male that was shot in the leg.

Burns was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victims condition is unknown at this time.

It was said that Burns had some sort of altercation with the suspect, the argument escalated and the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him before fleeing the scene.
