11 Year Old Orion Jean from Mansfield Has Been Named Time Magazine’s 2021 Kid of The Year
On February 10,2022 Orion Jean was named Time Magazine’s 2021 Kid of The Year on Nickelodeon’s 2022 Kid of the Year TV special.
Jean,11 is a sixth grader at Alma Martinez Intermediate School.
He was selected from more than 5,000 nominees for his community service campaigns that has helped people in need. He’s also inspired others to join him along the way with his kind words and acts of kindness.
Jean developed a Race to Kindness campaign, which he used to collect and distribute 100,000 meals to less fortunate families. He’s also gotten toys to children in local hospitals and books for kids who didn’t have any at home.
Jean was recognized at a Mansfield ISD board meeting in January for his volunteering that he’s done within the community.
As TIME’s 2022 Kid of the Year, Jean will be featured on the cover of TIME with additional coverage in TIME for Kids.
He will also receive a cash prize and have the opportunity to serve as a kid reporter for TIME for Kids. Plus get an exclusive access to a Nickelodeon event.
