A 46-year-old man named Jerome Walker has been arrested and charged with a hit-and-run incident that left a teenager, Bradley Daniel Jr., in critical condition.

The collision occurred on the 2200 block of Wheatland Road, and police identified Walker as a suspect after reviewing surveillance footage that revealed a tan Dodge pickup matching his vehicle description. Walker admitted to owning the truck and claimed he thought he had only hit a construction sign. He returned to the scene to take a photo for insurance purposes but left when he saw first responders because he lacked a driver’s license.

However, authorities found no evidence of him hitting a sign, and the damage to his truck suggests he struck the child. Bradley Jr. is hospitalized with serious injuries, including a fractured skull and brain bleeding.

Walker was taken into custody and his bond has been set at $25,000.
