Manhunt Underway for Dallas Suspect l in Deadly Garland Shooting

Detectives in Garland are investigating a tragic shooting incident that left a woman dead.

On January 21, 2025, just before 2:00 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located in the 4500 block of Chaha Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Initial investigations indicated that there was a disturbance in the parking lot involving one male and two females.

During this altercation, the male, who has been identified as 39-year-old Robert Ray Kelly from Dallas, shot one of the females before fleeing the scene.

Detectives are actively working to piece together the details surrounding this incident, which they believe to be an isolated occurrence.

The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Robert Kelly.
