Family members of a young man who was shot just before his 20th birthday at an Arlington Airbnb are seeking answers.

On November 23, 19-year-old Dayton Allen from Shreveport was fatally shot at the Airbnb, along with his 18-year-old girlfriend, Alexis Tyler, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Dayton’s mother, Ebony Allen, stated that her son was attempting to celebrate his upcoming 20th birthday when he was shot multiple times in the living room. He sustained over 20 gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Dayton’s mother described him as a ray of sunshine. She says she doesn’t believe the shooting was targeted.

“My son was not a violent person at all. He had no enemies. Everyone loved Day Day.”

The Allen family is urging anyone with information to step forward and contact the police.

Currently, authorities have not identified any suspects but believe the victim may have known the shooter.

A balloon release in memory of Dayton is scheduled to take place at Airport Park in Shreveport on Thursday at 6 p.m.
