Baton Rouge police are looking into a shooting that resulted in one child dead and two others injured just before Thanksgiving.
On November 27, at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 1000 block of Swan Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered three boys had been shot and immediately transported them to a local hospital; unfortunately, one boy did not survive his injuries.
According to reports, Courtlyn Daniels was pregnant and was leaving a barbershop with five of her children when the shooting occurred. The suspect fired multiple rounds at her vehicle, striking three boys, including 8-year-old Diellon Daniels. After the shooting, Courtlyn crashed into a tree near the barbershop. She gave birth to her child the following day, November 28.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities are continuing their search for the suspects. Anyone with information about this heartbreaking incident is urged to call 911.
