A woman has died, and a man is in custody following a workplace shooting in Lewisville Thursday morning.
According to Lewisville police, they received a call around 11:30 a.m. regarding an active shooter situation.
Witnesses reported seeing a co-worker shot at her desk during her lunch break.
Officers arrived within minutes and found the suspect inside the building, where he surrendered.
The female victim was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
Police have not disclosed any details about the relationship between the man and the woman, though they confirmed that they were acquainted.
It remains unclear whether the suspected shooter was an employee or had some form of access to the workplace.
Detectives are currently interviewing several dozen witnesses to piece together the events that transpired.
