Dallas, TX – Authorities have apprehended 36-year-old Antonio Banks, who has been charged with aggravated assault following a violent attack on a woman in Downtown Dallas. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. on September 12, when Banks allegedly struck the victim, identified as Elizabeth, with a metal pole while she stood on the sidewalk at the intersection of Elm Street and Field Street.

The attack was captured on security cameras from a nearby apartment building, which aided investigators in identifying Banks as the suspect. At the time of his arrest, he was already in custody on other charges, including trespassing and a parole violation. Elizabeth, an employee of the Dallas County District Clerk’s office, required surgery due to her injuries but is reportedly in good spirits and eager to return to work.

The incident has raised concerns about safety in urban areas, prompting local law enforcement to increase patrols in the downtown region. The Dallas Police Department continues to encourage anyone with additional information about the attack to come forward.
