A 22-year-old rapper who claimed to be 16 years old dating a 26-year-old apologized for trespassing on an Alabama high school.
A video on social media showed Anthony Beverly, also known as Li Woadie, trespassing onto Murphy High School’s campus in Mobile, Alabama, attempting to shoot a music video. The video left MHS parents concerned about their children’s safety.
Beverly claims he asked a female on Murphy High School’s campus for permission to shoot a music video before he entered. “I asked if I could shoot the video. I don’t know if it was a teacher or a student; I don’t know who it was. She said yes… I walked right past them. So, I walked right past them, made my video, and I left.”
The rapper has since apologized to his community in a phone interview with a local news outlet.
Mobile County Public School System officials released a statement regarding a person, later identified as Beverly, wearing a school uniform, who attempted to enter the cafeteria with other students. An MCPSS spokesperson said Beverly “was immediately turned away by school staff, and he left campus.”
MCPSS also claims they are working with law enforcement to take appropriate action and reviewing safety protocols to ensure all campuses remain safe.
Beverly has been previously arrested for obstructing justice using a false identity, violation of a protective order, third-degree domestic violence, and criminal mischief.
