A 5 year old boy from Idaho, who went missing during his birthday party, was found deceased in a canal Tuesday.
According to Boise police Matthew Glynn was reported missing Monday night, around 5:45 p.m., from his home.
Glynn was nonverbal and had autism.
Authorities found a young boy on Tuesday about half a mile from his home deceased in the water of a canal that fit Glynn’s description.
Police said they found no sign of foul play.
The Boise Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer said in a statement that “this is not the outcome we were all hoping for. Our hearts go out to Matthew’s family, and we extend our deepest condolences during this incredibly difficult time.”
Boise police believe the body found was 5 year old Matthew Glynn but the Ada County Coroner’s Office will be able to make a positive identification.
