Eight-year-old Demari Brooks sells lemonade to benefit children in his community.

Brooks is the president of Demari’s Faith and Hope, a non-profit organization located in Hillsboro, TX.

Demari’s Faith and Hope is raising money to help purchase 100 pair of kids shoes for the upcoming school year. Brooks made a goal to sell 500 lemonades to support children in his community. He is also supporting Hillsboro ISD faculty members by giving away a $150 gift card.

God led Brooks to begin giving back to his community four years ago, when the eight-year-old discovered his calling in life after he took someone’s property.

“God came to me and said he was talking to me, and he told me if I take some from the community, to give back to the community, so I woke everybody up and told them what God told me, and we just started,” Brooks said.

Brooks was acknowledged as Hillsboro Citizen of the Year by the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce in March 2022. The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce states that Brooks has donated water to schools, sold hot chocolate and Santa cookies to raise money for children in need, and donated a full box of toys to CPS.

Brooks is devoted to serving children throughout Hillsboro, Itasca, and Waxahachie.
