Alameda County District Attorney, Pamela Price, charged a 54-year-old California husband with several felonies.

On July 10th, around 9pm, Shane Killian allegedly shot his wife, two children, father-in-law, and mother-in-law. Officers discovered Killian’s 6-year-old child, mother-in-law, and wife deceased in the home. The one-year-old child was critically injured at the scene and was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

While wounded, Killian’s father-in-law managed to reach a neighbor’s home to contact the authorities. The father-in-law spoke to law enforcement before he died at the scene.

The loud gunshots didn’t initially alarm neighbors. They assumed the gunshots were fireworks until police officers arrived at the Killian residence.

Authorities haven’t released a motive.

Killian is facing four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, corporal injury to a relationship partner, elder, or dependent adult abuse, infliction of injury, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of an unconventional pistol.

Killian is currently held in jail without bond awaiting arraignment on July 22nd.
