A Florida father was arrested after admitting to physically abusing his infant child and causing his death.

On June 10, around 11 a.m., Melbourne police responded to a home regarding an unconscious infant. When they arrived they noticed a 6 week old baby not breathing. The infant was transported to an area hospital and died from the injuries.

Davis initially told police that he fed his baby then went to go take a shower. He said when he got out he found the baby not breathing.

An autopsy was performed and it revealed that the infant suffered internal injuries caused by blunt force trauma, multiple hemorrhages, fractures, and other signs of severe trauma. There was also an old rib fracture that indicated physical abuse.

So the next day detectives went back to question Davis and he told authorities he accidentally struck the infant in the head with his knee to catch him from falling.

He later went back and told authorities that he was tired of the infant crying and struck the baby multiple times forcefully in the back of the head and in the body.

Davis was arrested and booked into the Brevard County Jail with no bond.
