On June 22, around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call at a business located on the 8600 block of Lake June Rd.
The suspect, 21 year old Davonta Mathis, walked into the establishment, approached the counter and shot the victim 32 year old Gopi Krishna Dasari. Mathis then stole some merchandise and fled the scene before officers could arrive.
Dasari was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
On June 23 Dasari died from his injuries.
Mathis was originally arrested and charged with robbery but his charges were later upgraded to capital murder.
