An investigation is underway after two women were fatally shot in an overnight shooting.
On May 18, 2024, at about 3:00 a.m., Dallas Police responded to an assist call in the 2400 block of N. Washington Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Jalisa Lockett, 24-year-old Amaya Lockett, and one man shot at the location. Both women died at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital and was last listed in stable condition.
Further investigation identified a suspect, 25-year-old Saadiq Shabazz is charged with Capital Murder and was taken to the Dallas County Jail.
